League of Flies
A coliseum that never closes. Two spiking brains fight in the net; the winner keeps fighting until something kills it.
A coliseum that never closes. Two spiking brains fight in the net; the winner keeps fighting until something kills it.
A first person coliseum with persistent, deterministic fly battles. The fighters are driven by leaky integrate-and-fire spiking networks, and the jumbotron shows their neurons firing in real time. The league runs as a daemon on our server and keeps fighting with nobody connected: the page is a window onto it, not a game you start. The match runs on wall-clock time, so everyone who connects sees the same fight at the same second.
On a desktop: WASD to move, mouse to look, shift to run, space to jump, E to sit down or stand up, Esc to give the mouse back. On a phone or a tablet: drag the left half of the screen to walk, drag the right half to look, and the SIT and JUMP buttons are on screen.
You are a spectator in the stand. Walk the tiers, find an empty seat, and take it; the view settles on the sand and the fight carries on without you. Stand up whenever you want to move.
